How is my data handled when I use LinkedIn Profile Optimisation?

CareerSet’s LinkedIn Profile Optimisation tool provides section-by-section feedback to help you strengthen your LinkedIn profile and professional online presence.

You can import your LinkedIn profile in one of two ways:

• Profile URL: you can submit the URL of your LinkedIn profile. CareerSet accesses only information that is publicly visible through that profile. Private LinkedIn profile information is not accessed.
• PDF upload: you can use LinkedIn’s “Save as PDF” function and upload the resulting file to CareerSet.

The profile content you submit or import is stored within CareerSet so that you can review your feedback and work interactively on improvements over time. Stored profile content is retained in accordance with our standard retention policy and is automatically deleted 36 months after your most recent relevant submission, unless deleted earlier in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

LinkedIn Profile Optimisation uses OpenAI as part of its core functionality to support profile analysis and feedback. Only the content required for the relevant functionality is transmitted. CareerSet does not send your CareerSet account details, such as your name or email address, to OpenAI as separate account information, although the LinkedIn content you choose to submit may itself contain personal information.

CareerSet uses OpenAI under a business/API arrangement under which submitted CareerSet content is not used to train or improve OpenAI’s general-purpose models.

Your educational institution or authorised partner controls whether LinkedIn Profile Optimisation is made available to you. All processing is carried out in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
