What data is stored when I use ScoreMyCV? Do you store my CV?

How your CV is handled depends on the version of ScoreMyCV and the features made available by your educational institution.

Standard ScoreMyCV: When you upload a CV, CareerSet processes its content to generate your score and feedback report. Your original CV is not retained by default. Your feedback report is stored so that you can access your previous results.

Visual CV Feedback: If Visual CV Feedback is enabled by your institution, your CV is securely stored within CareerSet so that feedback can be displayed directly within your document, including visual highlighting and annotations.

Machine Readability / AI Checks: Where available, you can choose to run additional AI-supported checks on your CV. These use Mistral AI and are available only where Visual CV Feedback is enabled, meaning your CV is already stored within CareerSet. Running these checks does not create an additional separately stored copy of your CV within CareerSet.

ScoreMyCV AI+: ScoreMyCV AI+ is a separate configuration in which your CV is securely stored as part of the visual, document-based feedback experience. ScoreMyCV AI+ uses Mistral AI for CV parsing and OpenAI as part of its AI-supported functionality. Machine Readability is integrated into the AI+ experience.

CareerSet uses OpenAI and Mistral AI under business/API arrangements under which submitted CareerSet content is not used to train or improve their general-purpose AI models.

Your institution determines which ScoreMyCV configuration and optional features are available to you. Stored CVs and feedback reports are retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable retention periods.
