How is my data handled when I use ScoreMyCV?

How your CV is processed depends on the version of ScoreMyCV made available by your educational institution.

Standard ScoreMyCV

When you upload a CV to standard ScoreMyCV, CareerSet processes the content to generate your score and feedback report. The core scoring and feedback process does not use a third-party AI provider.

Your original CV is not retained by default. Your resulting feedback report is stored so that you can access your previous results.

Visual CV Feedback

If your institution has enabled Visual CV Feedback, your CV is securely stored within CareerSet so that feedback can be displayed directly within your document, including visual highlighting and annotations.

Visual CV Feedback itself does not use a third-party AI provider.

Machine Readability / AI Checks

Where Visual CV Feedback is enabled, your institution may also make optional Machine Readability / AI Checks available.

If you choose to run these checks, your CV is securely transmitted to Mistral AI to generate the relevant AI-supported feedback. Running the check does not create an additional separately stored copy of your CV within CareerSet.

ScoreMyCV AI+

ScoreMyCV AI+ is a separate configuration that supports multilingual and enhanced AI-supported CV analysis.

ScoreMyCV AI+ uses Mistral AI for CV parsing and OpenAI as part of its AI-supported functionality. Machine Readability is integrated into the AI+ experience.

Unlike standard ScoreMyCV, your CV is securely stored within CareerSet as part of the visual, document-based feedback experience.

CareerSet uses OpenAI and Mistral AI under business/API arrangements under which submitted CareerSet content is not used to train or improve their general-purpose AI models.

Your institution determines which ScoreMyCV configuration and optional features are available to you. Stored CVs and feedback reports are retained in accordance with CareerSet's Privacy Policy and applicable retention periods.
