How is my data handled when I use TargetMyCV and Career Insights?

TargetMyCV helps you tailor your CV to a particular role by comparing your CV with a job description.

When you use TargetMyCV, your CV and submitted job description are processed to generate your tailored feedback.

Your original CV is not retained after processing.

Your submitted job description and resulting feedback report are retained within CareerSet in accordance with our standard retention policy.

The core TargetMyCV CV-tailoring functionality does not use a third-party AI provider.

Career Insights

Career Insights is an optional AI-supported feature within TargetMyCV. Your educational institution determines whether Career Insights is available to you, and you choose whether to use it.

If you use Career Insights, CareerSet uses OpenAI to analyse the job description you submitted and generate additional insights about the role, such as responsibilities, potential career pathways and relevant future skills.

Your CV is not sent to OpenAI for Career Insights. Only the submitted job description required to generate the Career Insights analysis is transmitted.

CareerSet uses OpenAI under a business/API arrangement under which submitted CareerSet content is not used to train or improve OpenAI's general-purpose AI models.

Career Insights is different from Career Map, which is a separate CareerSet product.
